Why we built StorageTrader
Self-storage has a reputation for being one of the most reliable real estate investments out there, but unless you already know the right people, it’s tough to find good opportunities. And if you’re a sponsor, getting your deal in front of serious investors can be slow, complicated, and expensive.
We built StorageTrader to solve both sides of that problem.
One of our two founders spent her career managing investments across venture capital, private equity, and a major pension fund. She knows how important it is to have access to real assets if you want to build lasting wealth. She also knows how hard it can be to actually find those deals.
The other has owned self-storage facilities for years. Whenever she brought it up at a dinner party, someone would say, “I’ve heard self-storage is a great investment. How do I get in?”
That question stuck with us.
There was no simple way to invest in self-storage, and no easy way for sponsors to raise capital. So we built one. StorageTrader is the only platform focused entirely on self-storage. We’re here to make access easier, pricing more transparent, and the process more straightforward for both investors and sponsors.
